Carmelite Leopoldsburg

The Carmelite monastery in Leopoldsburg was in use from 1924 to 2012. The core of this monastery is the neoclassicist chapel. After the latest nuns left the monastery, the building became private property. SFA were asked to design different care facilities within the historical building block.
The design proposal provide different types of care facilities, as the housing for mentally disabled persons, housing for special youth care, flats for youngsters, and service flats, using the existing chapel as distribution block in order to cluster the different program.
