About

Studio Farris Architects was founded in 2008 by Italian architect Giuseppe Farris in Antwerp, Belgium. The practice won its first international recognition in 2010 with the refurbishment of de Loketten, the Brussels Counter Room of the Flemish Parliament. SFA has designed a wide range of projects, from small scale private houses and offices to highly recognized public facilities, such as the extension of the City Library in Bruges and the master plan and extension of the Antwerp Zoo.

Not a single aesthetic signature can be assigned to the diverse projects SFA has designed since its formation. What connects these diverse projects is not a house style but its opposite a pragmatic approach that eschews preconceptions and proceeds from the critical interrogation of a brief in order to uncover the potential in each project.

Awards received include the USA Design Vanguard 2015, two NL Arc16 2016, USA Architizer A+ 2018, German Design 2017 and DE Iconic 2016, NL Lai Award 2010. Work has been published widely and internationally by among others, Domus, Detail, Monocle, A+U, Entremuros, Arq and Architectural Record.
