studio farris has been appointed to rebuild the rear side of the cityhaal of Leuven into a multifunctional space that can be used for events, performances and live radio, without altering the character of the monument.  studio farris made a buildin tha welcomes every kind of visitor.

first of all, a part of the facade has been redesigned.  a composition of transparant windows and the existing windows will draw the attention of the people in the city into the inside of the building.  a subtle modification that makes the studio visible and revalues the whole facade.

the principle of transparancy is also used in the design of the interior in a way that transparancy and interaction between studio, redaction and surroundings is enabled.

in the interior, authentic elements of the existing interior are re-used in new function so the atmosphere is a reminiscence to the oroginal character of the building.
